DTN COMMENTS: All remains quiet in cash cattle country at midday with
some asking prices starting out around $186-plus in parts of the South,
but they are still not established in the North. Bids remain very elusive
at this point. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed for
another day or two.
Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 295.78 -1.62, select 290.77 -
1.99) with moderate box movement (69.66 lds of choice cuts, 21.71 lds of
select cuts, 2.73 lds of trim, and 13.07 lds of ground). Cattle futures
at midday are mostly sharply lower on both live and feeder issues.
